"I'm thrilled that Greenwich has given me the opportunity to give back and make a career out of something that I love." said Officer Andrew Greco
The Greenwich Police Department swore in 5 new police officers during a ceremony Monday morning at Greenwich Town Hall.
First Selectmen Peter Tesei said "I firmly believe the most important responsiblity that local government has is to protect it's inhabitants and as the Police, Fire and EMS go out each and every day, that is their primary focal point. We couldn't do so without well trained and equiped men and women."
The newly sworn in officers says they are happy to have the support of their families and now their new Police Department family throughout the process of becoming a police officer.
Officer Greco added "You rely on your brothers and sisters in law enforcement when time matters most. So far everyone I've met has been terrific along with the 4 other recruits that I am going to be in the academy with."
Officer Frank Eisenach-Fedak said "I think now just starting the academy they are an extension of my family. I don't even think I would distinguish between Police family and family. I think it's just one word - it's family and that is what they are and I am really excited to be a part of it."
The officers will now head to the police academy to train for 6 months. In Greenwich, Kwegyirba Croffie.
