He was a loving son, caring friend, and devoted football player.
Peter Cernansky was quarterback for Westhill High School.
Just 18, Cernansky tragically died from a skateboarding accident his first week of college last fall.
The Westhill Football family banded together. So did the community, Monday. Despite the rain, over 100 golfers came out for a first annual tournament in his name.
Cernansky's legacy of hard work and positive reinforcement will be carried through a new program.
Proceeds from the golf outing will go to the program, in honor of Cernansky.
So far, over $20,000 has been raised to help student athletes advance in the classroom and on the field. The program will begin this fall.
