Downtown Stamford is now the home of a large colorful outdoor mural, thanks to artist Scott Glaser. Glaser was chosen out of more than a dozen artists by the Stamford Downtown Special Services District to paint the mural that can now be seen on the side of First County Bank on Atlantic Street.

Glaser says it took him about 8 months to finish the original six by eight foot painting that would later be magnified. He says most of the painting was done using a brush tip the size of a ballpoint pen. Glaser says his painting was then taken to a master digital printer and scanner for enlarging.

The final piece is 31 by 41 feet. Glaser says it’s the largest piece he has ever produced and the largest outdoor mural ever created for Stamford. He says the best place to view the painting is on the corner of Bank Street and Atlantic Street.

Glaser’s mural was unveiled by the City Wednesday, March 8.
