Stamford, CT | Added on May 20, 2013 At 11:55 PM

Metro North has announced plans to resume normal full train service on the New Haven Line by the peak morning commute Wednesday.  According to a release, about one hundred workers have been working around the clock since Saturday night, and that work "continues at a brisk pace."

Metro-North President Howard Permut said in a release Monday night "We are confident that the reconstruction work, inspection and testing will be completed in time for a normal rush hour on Wednesday... We are grateful for the tireless work of all departments and employees engaged in this huge task.”

For the Tuesday commute, Monday's special provisions will continue with shuttle trains moving passengers from New Haven to Bridgeport, and shuttle busses moving passengers between Bridgeport and Stamford.
