Bartlett Arboretum Hosts Arbor Day Workshop

The Bartlett Arboretum celebrated Arbor Day with an educational workshop for the public Thursday. Trees and Power Lines: Partnering in an Urban Forest, featured three guest speakers who are experts on the topic. The speakers included Doug Pistawka, CL&P Vegetation Management Senior Arborist; Neil Hendrickson, Northeast Technical Director at Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories; and Ronald Markey, Landscape Specialist for the City of Stamford. The night included discussion about the damage caused by Superstorm Sandy last year. The experts had some helpful tips for the public on tree planting and safety. The Arboretum plans to host another workshop before the year ends.
