Stamford is getting ready to take a Shamrock Stroll this St. Patrick's Day.

The 5k timed walk/run is free of charge, and will take participants through areas of Harbor Point.

With the success of two Turkey Trot walk/run events, the City's department of health and social services has partnered with Harbor Point and Pacific Swim Bike Run, to continue promoting physical fitness.

And what kind of St. Patty's Day would it be without showing some Irish spirit?  Participants are encouraged to dress in green.

The City's Stamford Walks Initiative to promote healthy lifestyles, continues to gain support from the community.

Sunday's event will begin at 8:30 AM, with registration at 7:30 at Commons Park. To sign up in advance, you can go online or call Pacific Swim Bike Run.
