Former NYC Chancellor of Education, Joel Klein, came to Stamford to speak about civility in education.
He says a civil outlook in education starts with hope in the future, and the American dream. But now that is a decreasing belief nationwide.
Moving forward he says the solution will come from action in Washington and a better education system.
Klein is the sixth speaker to address the Stamford community, as part of the City’s Civility in America series.
The speaker series aims to restore the conversation and practice of civility in society. Other topics will include civility in law enforcement, international scholarship, and sports. Visit the city’s website for more information.
