When Season 16 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars premiers on Monday evening, March 18th, a group of present and future ballroom dance students, dance enthusiasts and fans will have the opportunity to party and watch the season premier at Dance With Me Stamford. The studios are home to DWTS professional dancers Tony Dovolani, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Valentin Chmerkovskiy. Dovolani brought home the All-Star Season 15 Mirror Ball Trophy dancing with partner Melissa Rycroft. Dance With Me is making a bid to win it for a second time.
The party will begin at 7 p.m. at Dance With Me Stamford, on the 5th floor of 20 Summer Street, Stamford with a dance class, demonstrations by the studio’s world-class instructors, and refreshments. Participants will view the show, which airs from 8 to 10 p.m., on large-screen TVs with open dancing and more partying during commercial breaks.
The party will also kick off a “2 is Better than 1” campaign to build local support for the Dance With Me pros. This season Dovolani will defend the Mirror Ball Trophy paired with well-known country singer Wynonna Judd. Valentin Chmerkovskly is paired with Disney Channel actress Zendaya Coleman from the popular show “Shake it Up.” Maksim Chmerkovskly is sitting out Season 16 competition along with several other previous cast members, but will perform on the show in entertainment segments throughout the season.
“Val and I are delighted with our partners and the potential we have with them to bring the Mirror Ball trophy back to Dance With Me for a second year,” said Dovolani.
Admission is $15, which also includes a coupon for a complementary private dance lesson for first-time students, which can be scheduled at their convenience. In addition, to celebrate the season launch, admission for new students is $10, as well as for current students who bring a new student as a guest.
