Stamford Center for the Arts is set to host a blood drive with American Red Cross next month. Those who donate blood will be entered for a chance to win a pair of tickets to Paddy Moloney and The Cheiftains at the Palace Theatre on March 12th at 8 p.m. as a special thank you. Two pairs of tickets will be awarded to two winners. Prizes are not redeemable for cash and are non-transferable.
Stamford Center for the Arts is very happy to be working with the American Red Cross again and helping to support their mission to provide lifesaving blood to patients in need,” said SCA Executive Director Michael E. Moran, Jr. “We encourage eligible donors to join us and help support the community blood supply by donating blood with the American Red Cross at the Palace Theatre on March 3rd.”
In the United States, every two seconds someone needs blood. That patient could be a mother in childbirth, a newborn baby, a trauma victim or a cancer patient. The Red Cross collects and processes about 40% of the nation’s blood supply. The American Red Cross Blood Services Region must collect approximately 650 units of blood donations each day to meet the needs of patients in our area.
The drive will take place Sunday, March 3 from 8:00am-1:00pm at the Palace Theatre, 61 Atlantic Street. For more information or to make an appointment to donate at The Palace, please visit www.redcrossblood.org and click on the Make a Blood Donation Appointment box in the upper right hand corner of the page.
