Senator Richard Blumenthal addressed the Stamford Business Community Friday.

The US Senator says job and economic growth in the state is a priority.

“I have travelled the state talking to businesses, and I’ve tried to listen to what they have said to me, and I’m beginning a second listening tour of the state. Based on manufacturers, hearing from them what is important to sustain and drive economic growth,” said U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal.

Senator Blumenthal says he’s planning a major effort to expedite and support exports from the state to areas internationally where business should be conducted.

“If there is a New Year’s resolution for Washington, it is to change the way Washington does business.”

He also spoke about gun control, and the issue of mental health.   He says he’s been working on mental health initiatives with other Republicans.

Senator Blumenthal says he hopes the bi-partisan action will continue.
