Children from the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford took a trip to payless this week to pick out a free pair of shoes. The club was selected to take part in the store's international children's shoe giving program, Payless Gives Shoes for Kids. Two hundred and fifty children from the Boys & Girls Club will receive a $20 voucher for a pair of shoes of their choice. On Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, children from the Club went to the Payless Shoe Source on Bedford Street to pick out their new shoes.

The Payless Gives Shoes for Kids program is implemented in all 50 states. The program was launched in the United States in 2008 and has since spread to more than a dozen other countries, providing more than $1.5 million worth of shoes to children.
